Sad Cat Reality

A foul smell was starting to spread backdoor. It could be the kittens that their mother always tried to hide inside the house no matter how many times nanay attempted to place them somewhere else. And yes they were. It's sad to know they died so early. But my brother's story about what and why it happened was even sadder...

He said the kittens were killed by an alpha male cat. He attacked the kittens of his former enemy cat who just died. The mother tried so hard to protect her babies, and got seriously injured during the fight. But the weaker ones were defeated.

I hated my brother's story which he connected from a National Geographic documentary. How can that male cat be so heartless just to make sure this is now his territory?

The mother now sits silently on top of a cabinet and just stares at us when we look at her. Before, she would usually run away quickly when we draw near her. But now, there's just two thin lines in her eyes and a heavily scarred mouth. I'm not very sure if cats feel intensely, but I did see deep sorrow in its eyes after she lost the babies she protected and fed for a few weeks just because they were babies of a male cat defeated by another alpha male.

Indeed, we live in a fallen world, an accursed world that extends to the animals. And all creature awaits for the restoration of the earth with groaning...

For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. (Romans 8:19-21)
